This Privacy Policy explains how Clubcerts (“Clubcerts”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your information when you visit clubcerts.com, sign in with Google, suggest or like songs on our event playlists, or contact us. If you have questions, email us at clubcerts@gmail.com.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Google
To suggest songs or like songs on an event playlist, you need to sign in with your Google account. When you do, Google shares the following basic profile information with us:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google account ID (a number that identifies your Google account)
We do not receive your Google password, and we do not get access to your Gmail, contacts, files, calendar or any other Google services.
When you use event playlists
- The song links you submit and the song details we look up from them (title, artist, artwork and streaming platform)
- Which songs you like, and when
- Which event each suggestion or like belongs to
Your first name is shown publicly next to songs you suggest (for example, “suggested by Alex”). Your email address and full name are never shown to other visitors.
When you contact us or join our mailing list
If you fill in a contact or booking form or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number and message.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you visit. Our security tools use this to block spam and attacks.
How we use Google user data
We use the information we receive from Google only to:
- Create your Clubcerts account and sign you in
- Show your first name next to songs you suggest
- Make sure each person can only like a song once and stays within the suggestion limit for each event, which keeps the playlists fair and free of spam
- Contact you about your account if we need to (for example, if a suggestion is removed)
We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties, except with the service providers that host and run our website or when the law requires it. Clubcerts’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use your information in general
- To run our events, playlists and website
- To reply to your messages and booking requests
- To send newsletters and event announcements, if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email)
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud, spam and abuse
- To understand how people use our website and measure our event promotions
Cookies and third-party services
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to make the website work. We also use services from other companies that may set their own cookies or receive information from your browser:
- Google Sign-In to sign you in (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our ads and event promotions perform (Meta Privacy Policy)
- Streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, Deezer, TIDAL and Audiomack. Song artwork is loaded from these platforms, and if you press play on a song preview, that platform’s player loads and its own privacy policy applies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website, such as signing in, will not work without them.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with:
- Service providers who help us run the website, such as our web host and email delivery provider, who may only use it to provide their service to us
- Authorities, when we are required to by law or need to protect the safety of our patrons, staff or events
How long we keep your information
We keep your account and playlist activity for as long as your account exists, so past event playlists stay accurate. Contact form messages and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct or delete your data: email clubcerts@gmail.com from the email address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your name and email and the songs and likes linked to it.
- Disconnect Google: you can remove Clubcerts’ access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Unsubscribe from emails: use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter.
We handle personal data in line with applicable data protection laws, including Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, 2020.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and security monitoring. No website is completely secure, so please contact us right away if you think your account has been misused.
Age requirement
Our events and website are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
